Dr. Seuss Day is a fun day of the year because not only do students get to dress up like characters from Dr. Seuss books but they also get to complete lots of curriculum-tied Dr. Seuss activities.  We would read a Dr. Seuss book and then do an activity.  We read the book, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut" and then students filled out their Dr. Seuss hats with poems about places they can read.  We read "Green Eggs and Ham" and then ate "green eggs" which was really vanilla pudding dyed green with a vanilla wafer on top.  Another class favorite was reading "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" and then graphing rainbow goldfish.  It was a fun day to be in first grade!
