We are excited to announce our second annual 5K "Fun Run" Festival: A 5K Race and "Fun (1 mile) Run". A $15.00 donation purchases entry into the race (1 mile / 5K), along with an awesome student-designed t-shirt.
It was a SUPER close race this year … 3 classes had more than 1,000 box tops each. Very impressive!
We are thrilled to announce the winner of the pizza celebration is … Mrs. Reid's 2nd Grade Class, with a total of 1,416 box tops turned in.
Our whole school total box tops collected this year was 15,144 box tops! AMAZING! That equates to $1,514.00 for our school!

The PRCA Champions Challenge Rodeo is coming to the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds Arena Saturday, May 30, 2015. This rodeo will feature the world’s All-star Cowboys who will be in town for one night to compete on some of the world’s best animals for the winning prize.
Our adorable 2nd grade teacher, Jenna Reid, is in her third year of teaching and second year at Spanish Oaks Elementary. She loves being a teacher, and is looking forward to becoming a mom, as her first child, a baby girl is due this April. Her own mother is what inspired Jenna to teach; growing up, watching the dedication and hard work it took to be a teacher. More importantly, Mrs. Reid saw the fulfillment and joy her mother had by simply enriching the lives of others.
In celebration of Presidents' Day, we had a special visitor in our library today. "Abraham Lincoln" came to teach the students about his life and what it was like growing up. The students loved the experience and are now "experts" on Honest Abe.
What a day! Lots of friends, games and Valentine cookies! Great way to end a great week! Thanks to all the parent helpers who arranged and volunteered to help with class parties!
Congratulations to those students chosen to enjoy a reading celebration with Mrs. Brown this month. They decorated Valentine cookies and had a great time! What a great bunch of readers!

As part of our DARE program, the sixth grade was able to watch a demonstration by a member of the Spanish Fork Police Department K9 unit. It was amazing to watch how well trained the dog was and to see what a help the dogs can be to the police department. Thanks Officer Hooley!
