PEAK Award Winner from Spanish Oaks ... Mr. Crockett

One of our awesome sixth grade teachers, Mr. Crockett, was awarded the PEAK Award last night at the Nebo School District Board Meeting.  We are so proud of him, and so grateful for the great things he does both in his classroom, and for others around our school!  Congratulations, Mr. Crockett!

Gregg Crockett, Teacher, Spanish Oaks Elementary
Nominated by: DeAnn Carter, Stacey Johnson, & Kali Brown

“Computer-man, as Mr. Gregg Crockett has become known, is a mild-mannered sixth-grade teacher. There is not a single day that goes by that Gregg Crockett isn't called upon to assist in some way. Whether it is logging in students for SAGE testing, uploading programs for Chromebooks, setting up microphones for a class program, retrieving pictures from a surged iPad, or even just helping the principal get into her ‘lost’ documents, Mr. Crockett ALWAYS comes running! We are so very grateful for the selfless, service filled with positive energy, and kindness that Gregg provides to our students, faculty and staff every day!”

Master Oogway Joins Preschool at Spanish Oaks

    Attributions:

Our preschool students have been working hard to discover which kind of class pet would be the best fit for their classroom.  They have tried birds, dogs, fish, hamsters, etc., but nothing felt quite right.  A few weeks ago they met Master Oogway ... and the search was over!  A special "thank you" to Caden Brown, a junior at MMHS, for donating this new pet turtle to our students.  He is definitely a favorite, and will be very well taken care of and loved for years to come!

Play Unplugged Program Up and Going at Spanish Oaks

    Attributions:

The Spanish Fork/Salem area Chamber of Commerce is very excited about the Play Unplugged program they are rolling out this summer ... and they came to share their excitement with the students at Spanish Oaks!    Play Unplugged helps kids PLAY!  It does so by encouraging active lifestyles and promoting healthy activities.  What makes this program so effective?  Simply put, it gives bored kids and busy parents something to do all summer long!  We can't wait to get started!

    Spanish Oaks Closing Choir Assembly

Our choir did a great job today in an assembly they presented for the student body.  We so appreciate Mrs. Christensen, Miss Hughes and Mrs. Aagard for all their time and effort this past year in making our choir a success.  If you were unable to attend the assembly, the choir will perform for their families on May 14, 2014 at 6:30pm.  Hope to see you there!
