We have had a great book fair going on this past week. With "buy one, get one free", we have had tons of great books going home in the hands of students. Our Penny War was also a huge success! Over 13,000 pennies were put into the jars. We raised $408 for books - Way to go! Our Kindergarten classes were the winners of the Penny War, and were rewarded with a cookie celebration. Congratulations, Kindergarten students! Our guessing jar winners today were Sarah and Logen in Mr. Rigby's class, Layla in Mrs. Aagard, and Emily in Mrs. Graham ... with many many more throughout the week! We also had a Bookworm Activity put on by our PTA (special thanks to Linda Barbakos!) and we had a great turn out for that on Thursday evening. There were some awesome activities, such as: coloring bookmarks, word search, chenille stem worms and of course ... giving away books! Thank you to our PTA (special 'shout out' to Jacoy Baird!!) and to all of our parents who supported our Book Fair. Keep Reading over Spring Break!!
We enjoyed a parade of cars this morning with our cute kindergarteners inside each one! They also treated their parents to some great songs, and then "drove" their cars around to various places in the school to learn about our National Symbols ... Life IS a Highway!! Great job, students, parents and teachers!
