Clicky and his friends Nettie, Webster, and Router paid our school another visit this year to teach us how to be safe on the internet. The students even got to take a quiz to test their knowledge on internet safety. We want to stay away from Potty-Mouth Pete, Wanta-Know Wally, Look-At-Dis Louie, and Meet-Me Mack who are the bad guys online. Thank you Mr. Parkinson for bringing your friends to teach us how to have good netiquette!
Friday evening our school had our 4th annual 5K/ 1 Mile "Get Fit" Fundraiser Run! For those who did not want to run/walk, we had “centers” set up where people could work on “getting fit”, i.e., dancing, pushups, jump rope, Frisbee, etc. It was a fun night for both stuents and parents. We would like to thank everyone that participated in and/or volunteered for this event!
We love to acknowledge students that go above and beyond to make others feel like they matter. Thank you to this week's treasures for making a difference at Spanish Oaks!

Donuts for fifth grade! Our students all love school so much that they had no one tardy for ten (1) days total! Great job, 5th grade!
Mrs. Rosenvall planned a wonderful lesson for the fifth grade students to learn about Ferdinand Magellan and discover the Strait of Magellan. They sailed in the ships, and even ate some "sawdust" because they got so hungry.
Come to our PTA Book Fair and find 'monster' deals on great books! Our fair will run October 24-28 from 8:30am-4:00pm and will be open late during SEP conferences on Wednesday, October 26 until 8:00pm. The fair will close at 1:00pm on Friday the 28th. Parents are welcome anytime!
Our third graders had a great time on out field trip! We went to the Bean Museum and watched a live animal presentation. Then, we had a picnic lunch at Canyon Glen Park and walked to Bridal Veil Falls.
The Box Tops Race begins Monday, October 10, 2016! It's time to turn in those cute little Box Tops that you have diligently clipped and saved all summer long. Please be sure to discard the expired ones.
You can send your clipped Box Tops with your child to school all next week. The final day to turn them is Friday, October 14, 2016.
