Kindergarten students had a special visitor from Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. Our visitor helped us with some hands-on experiments where we learned about using forces like pushing, pulling and how air can make things move. We played with hover aircrafts and had a tug or war to help us learn how these forces work.
Kindergarten students are 100 Days Smarter!! We celebrated by skip counting to 100 by 2's, 5's and 10's. Then we spent time rotating to different stations where we did our best to see what we could accomplish in 100 seconds. We worked on writing as many words as possible, building a tower with 100 cups, putting the ABC's in alphabetical order, and many other challenges. We ended our day enjoying 100 little pancakes YUMMY!! What a way to spend our 100th day!
Kindergarten students celebrated the wedding of Mr. Q and Miss U today in a short ceremony. The wedding party (class) made tiaras and bowties with pictures and words that are made when we unite Mr. Q and Miss U. After the ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a little cake and celebrated the happy union. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Qu may you forever make wonderful words together.

We concluded our school food drive today with a total of 1,835 items to donate. Thanks so much to our student council for organizing, gathering and counting the cans. Our top 3 grade levels for the most contributions are 2nd, 4th and 6th grades. Congratulations!
Mr. Rigby’s class had a great time performing poems for our first-grade buddy readers!
In Miss McKendrick's class the last few weeks we have been learning about different ways creatures and tracks can be fossilized. One way is for a dinosaur to fall into a body of water and over time the bone cells are filled with mineral water. The minerals harden, the bone wastes away, and what is left is the fossil (hardened minerals/rock) in the exact same shape as the dinosaur from long ago. Our class demonstrated this by having the dinosaur bones (sponge) fall into the water (sodium silicate).
Had a good OLD time on the 100th day of school!
In 1st grade, we’ve been working all week on double-digit addition with regrouping. Today we got to have a monster truck “Demolition Derby” to practice everything we’ve learned. Various trucks faced off and after solving all the problems, the truck who regrouped the most moved on to the next round. We were so excited to work to find the ultimate champion!
