Green Ribbon Safety week at Spanish Oaks The week of September 10th -14th was Green Ribbon Week at Spanish Oaks Elementary. Every day there was a theme to help remind students to practice safety habits. Monday, Safety Day, the students were given a green wrist band to wear for the whole week, and pledges were sent home for students to discuss and sign with their families. Tuesday, Two-Step Tuesday, students were asked to walk safely to school and obey all safety rules. Wednesday, Green Spirit Day, students, faculty and staff were asked to wear green on this day to remind them of the pledges they have made to be aware and obey safety rules. There were discussions throughout the school of how we can be better prepared and how to be safer while we are at school as well as away from our school. Thursday, Crazy for Safety, Students had crazy hair on this day to remind them that students at Spanish Oaks Elementary are crazy for safety. Friday, Take a Stand and be Safe, students were able to wear silly socks on this day to remind them to take a stand and be safe. Thank you to Dawnyeil West, Spanish Oaks PTA, and the 6th grade student council and advisors for their hard work in planning and carrying out the activities for this special week.
