  • Outstanding Educator- Susan Phelps
Mrs. Phelps is in her 16th year of teaching at Spanish Oaks and currently teaches first grade. She is an amazing teacher who has a passion for education, building students confidence in themselves, and who also contributes to the PTA by volunteering her time and support at PTA activities. Students love to see her at local Spirit Nights and helping with Carnival games in the Spring. We are so grateful for her kindness, hard work, and commitment to the success of children at our school.
  • Outstanding Volunteer- Laura Theodosis
Laura Theodosis has been one amazing volunteer for our PTA and our school for over 5 years. She has helped in classrooms with students, assists teachers, serves SEP dinners, served as our membership chair and run a successful PTA membership drive, helped with Art & Family Nights, and run our "Spanish Oaks Got Talent" at our annual Carnival. She has a heart of gold and is so willing and happy to help in so many ways. We are grateful to her for her many hours and years of service to our school community.
  • Outstanding Support Staff- DeAnn Carter
DeAnn is an amazing secretary who has been serving the administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents and community of Spanish Oaks since the school opened its doors in 2001. Before that she worked at 2 other schools in Nebo School District and this will be her 25th and final year working in Nebo. DeAnn is amazing at juggling all the things in the front office and helping everyone who comes in the doors. From handing out ice and bandaids to students, answering all the questions from parents, students, and staff, directing visitors and volunteers, and so much more. DeAnn has become one of the most recognized faces at Spanish Oaks and everyone appreciates her heartfelt efforts and kind service to our school. She's been a great support to the PTA and we sure love her!
