Mrs. Susan Huff, Principal of Spanish Oaks Elementary was awarded the 2012 David O. Mckay School of Education Alumni Achievement Award. Mrs. Huff spent eighteen years in the classroom and taught first and fourth grades, served as a clinical faculty associate in the BYU-Public School Partnership, and is a local and national educational consultant. In the past she has been awarded Utah Rookie Principal of the year, Nebo District’s Instructional Leader of the Year, Utah Reading Principal of the Year and most recently the National Distinguished Principal Award. Mrs. Huff is married to Richard and they have raised five amazing children who are rearing their fourteen grandchildren. Susan has said completing her doctoral dissertation while working full time and having family responsibilities was one of her greatest challenges and a very satisfying accomplishment. She is a published author and educational consultant and enjoys the opportunities this provides her to work with dedicated educators both locally and throughout the country. Spanish Oaks Elementary honored her with a luncheon and a gift basket from the faculty, staff, students and PTA. We are grateful for Mrs. Huff and her work to improve the lives of children and adults. Congratulations, Mrs. Huff! We are proud of you and this award is well deserved.
