National School Breakfast Week

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Breakfast was a popular meal at our school this past week.  We even had some special visitors.  Officer Slaymaker and Miss Spanish Fork both made an appearance to help pass out prizes.  Special thanks to our lunch ladies for their extra time and effort!

1st Grade Community Helper Day

Submitted by lindsay.robison on

Part of the 1st-grade core is learning about community helpers.  On community helper day, students come to school dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up.  Then we have parents come share their job with the whole grade.  They talk about how much schooling you need in order to have that as your career as well as the good and hard things they do in their job.  We had the opportunity to hear from a Nebo Credit Union President, chemist, 911 operator, electrician, police officer, beekeeper, nurse, and flutist.  It was such an educational day for the students

1st Grade Dr. Seuss Day

Submitted by lindsay.robison on

Dr. Seuss Day is a fun day of the year because not only do students get to dress up like characters from Dr. Seuss books but they also get to complete lots of curriculum-tied Dr. Seuss activities.  We would read a Dr. Seuss book and then do an activity.  We read the book, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut" and then students filled out their Dr.

Seussical A HUGE Success at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Horton, Maisey, the Whos and Kangaroos ... just a few of the characters that delighted us in our school play.  Mrs. Call and Mrs. Lewis have done an outstanding job helping the actors and actresses present an amazing story for us to enjoy!  The students' and teachers' hard work really showed as they sang and danced their way into our hearts.  Parents and families are invited to attend Thursday and/or Friday night(s) at 7:00 p.m.  All who come will not be disappointed!  Thank you for a job well done!
