The following students have earned their way to the Keyboarding Competition that will be in April. They did an awesome job! Congratulations to: Ehlana Dodson, Daphne Clarke, Allison Christiansen, Mason Ford, Justin Lindholm, Jessie Tiapson and Emily Jex.
Our fourth, fifth and sixth graders enjoyed some great science experiments today with some visitors from the Clark Planetarium. They learned about a variety of science concepts while having fun at the same time! What a great assembly!

Spanish Oaks Elementary - Heidi Dimmick
At the beginning of the year, each fifth grade class read the book Wonder by R. J. Palacio. The students learned the importance of treating everyone with respect and "being kinder than necessary." On Tuesday night, the fifth grade students and their families were all invited to go see Wonder together at the movie theater. It was a great movie, with even greater company.
Miss McKendrick's class loved learning about the brain through some hands-on science. Using the book "The Growth Mindset Coach", the class got into groups and put together their very own brain using Play-Doh. After each part was completed on their play-doh brain, they would test each other on the roles of each part: Pre-Frontal Cortex, Cerebrum, Cerebellum, Amygdala, Hippocampus, and Brainstem. Did you know your Amygdala helps you feel emotion? These kids do!
