Ariane Brown Wengreen, a teacher at Spanish Oaks Elementary in Nebo School District, is being recognized as this week’s Utah Valley Educator of the Week.
“I love my students, the faculty, and administration,” she said. “I have had the privilege of working with some of the best teachers out there and am grateful for their mentoring, and I still get to work with the best new teachers and learn from them, too … At school, I love helping in whatever way I can to make a positive and fun atmosphere for all who come to our school.”

Our second grade held their annual invention convention, and it was a huge success. We may have some budding inventors on our hands :)
Our amazing PTA presented a check for $2,000.00 to our school to be used to purchase technology. The funds came from our school carnival, which has become a looked-forward-to activity each Spring. The carnival is a ton of work, and we would like to thank our amazing PTA members who work so hard all year long to make it a success. We are also so grateful for how they spoil us as faculty and staff with dinners, birthday wishes, treats, etc. A sincere thanks to all of you!
Our fifth grade students work hard all year to accomplish all the tasks required to be a Golden Explorer. It is a year long commitment to excellence and is challenging to receive. The students presented with their plaques for this year are: Addilyn Stephenson, Trenton Black, Savannah Dustin, Colton Johnson, William Young, Ella O'Gwin, Mikah Hunter and Thomas Westover from Miss Babcock's class; Kaitlyn Smith from Mrs. Wengreen; and Andy Kadomtsev from Mrs. Rosenvall's class. A huge "hooray" goes out our Kiwanis TERRIFIC Kids recipients for 2017. They are a great bunch of students!
