Reading Celebration with Mrs. Brown

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Mrs. Brown was so excited to host our monthly reading celebration with a student from each class who had completed their reading goal for this past month.  They got to decorate (and eat) Christmas trees.  That green frosting was mighty good!!  Thanks to our PTA for helping to organize and set up this great activity!

Third Grade Christmas Program

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Our third grade students have worked so hard learning songs, choreographing dances and learning parts for their program presented to parents and family last night here at Spanish Oaks Elementary School.  We loved the variety, and the opportunity to view first-hand the creativitiy of the students.  The parents enjoyed joining-in for a lively version of 'Have a Holly Jolly Christmas' to round out the night.  Well done students, and "thank you" to the third grade teachers for their hard work!  The night was a huge success!

The students at Spanish Oaks have helped to make 565 children happy this Christmas season!  Our student body council have been collecting stuffed animals for the annual drive held by the Bank of American Fork.  Thanks to all the students who shared with other children in need.  A special congratulations to fourth and first grades for bringing in the most stuffed animals.

The District gets parent contact information for ParentLink from our student database.  Parents can change their own contact information as follows:

Spanish Oaks Christmas Choir Concert

Our combined choir students did an amazing job in their performance last night for their parents and friends.  They have worked hard and were so excited to share the songs they have learned.  A special "thank you" to our choir leaders, Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Aagard, for all their hard work, and to our choir piano player(s), Laurie Dallon and Katie Drollinger, for their dedication and service.  Nice job, students!

Learning Going on in Mrs. Graham's Class

Submitted by sherri.peterson on
As we learned about Hellen Keller in our Journeys story this week, students in Mrs. Graham's class tried to get a feel for what it might feel like to be blind and deaf.  Although it was nowhere close to the real thing, it gave them some food for thought and got them thinking.
