Our theme at Spanish Oaks this year is "True Grit".  Grit is an acronym for Gratitude, Resilience, Initiative and Tenacity.  We are making the most of some tough changes in school this year, and having grit as we go about our daily school life is our goal.  We are SO glad to be in school!

Mr. Murray, our new principal, wears a large orange cowboy hat and goes around to each class on Fridays, where the teachers have chosen a student that has shown true grit throughout the week and they get to sign the hat.  The hat will be displayed in the office. We also have true grit slips brought to the office each morning of those caught showing grit, and Mr. Murray reads their names on the morning announcements. Feel free to join us at home in having resilience and being grateful for all we have.
