Spanish Oaks Science EXTRA Explorer Summer Camp

Submitted by kali.brown on

The first week of summer, Spanish Oaks students enjoyed our SCIENCE EXTRA Explorer Summer Camp ... Loose in the Lab!  Interested students met for 3 days, learning from teachers and parents ... They kept a science journal, learned to use the scientific method, and conducted hands-on experiments.  Thank you to Mrs. Aagard, Mr. Meeks, and our awesome volunteers for continuing the learning!

Spanish Oaks Represents at Track Meet

Submitted by kali.brown on

On Tuesday, April 29, all of the 6th grade students in the Spanish Fork area attended the annual Hershey Track Meet at Spanish Fork High School.  Students had an amazing time competing in events such as:  100 yard dash, 100 meter race, 400 meter relay, softball throw, standing long jump, etc.  It was a perfect day and everyone had a great time, including the 6th grade teachers, who took very seriously their chance to race.  And the teacher winner is ... our very own Mr. Crockett!  Run, sixth grade ... RUN!

The 3rd grade family program reminded us about some of the funny and not so funny parts of being in a family! They did an AMAZING Job!

P.S. Congratulations to our Mrs. Jerrika Terry Bridges who just is starting her own new little family (She was married on Thursday May 8th)

Spanish Oaks 'End of Year' Reading Rewards

Submitted by jenn.moxon on

If you have over 2 million minutes, does it always go with cool music?  Loud cheers?  Over 100 books, 2 $50 College Scholarships, AND a brand new bike given away?  It does if they are reading minutes at Spanish Oaks Elementary!!!  Mrs. Brown rocked the school, with the help of Mr. Crockett providing the tunes, at our end of the year "Race into Reading" Assembly.  Spanish Oaks children read, read and READ ... and the minutes prove it!  So does the love of reading that the children here have developed!  Keep up the great work and ... READ READ READ!

Land Rush at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by jenn.moxon on

In preparation for the Mini Society and in conjunction with studying U.S. History in the 5th grade, Spanish Oaks had their very own Land Rush of 2014!  Similar to the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889, students bought their property and ran for their lives!
