Diamond Fork Jr. High: Promoting the Arts!

Submitted by jenn.moxon on

Wednesday, March 12, Diamond Fork Junior High School came to share their talents with the 6th grade students of Spanish Oaks Elementary.  In trying to promote the arts program, Diamond Fork Jr. High had a short performance for the students who will be joining them next year at the junior high.  Demonstrations were provided for the different types of instruments, using some popular music from movies and radio.  The performance was capped off with a percussion extravaganza!  Five percussionists, using 7 trash cans, put on a fun final number of rhythm.

Teachers, staff and students alike embraced the idea of an early spring with Hawaiian Day festivities at Spanish Oaks!  Student Council members delivered colorful leis to all the students.  Lava-lavas were worn, limbo contests were held and grass skirts were shook.  Bring on the sunshine ... we are ready to hit the waves!
