Staff Appreciation Week: Super Hero Day

Our wonderful PTA at Spanish Oaks organized an amazing Staff Appreciation Week, February 3-7, to recognize the awesome people who work each day to make Spanish Oaks the place to be!  A special "thank you" to Sarah O'Gwin, Lillian Kump and their team for all of their hard work! 

Thursday (2-06-14) was our Super Hero Dress Up Day  where everyone was welcome to dress up to celebrate our favorite super heroes ... all Spanish Oaks Faculty and Staff Members!!

All Spanish Fork secondary schools will be excused at 11:15 a.m. and all Spanish Fork elementary schools will be excused at 12:00 noon this Wednesday, February 5, 2014.
 
EARLY RELEASE IS FOR SPANISH FORK SCHOOLS ONLY.  Schools include:  Spanish Oaks, Canyon, East Meadows, Park, Larsen, Rees Sierra Bonita, River View, Brockbank, SFJHS, Diamond Fork Junior High, MMHS, SFHS, and Landmark.

SECONDARY WILL BE RELEASED AT 11:15 a.m.
ELEMENTARY WILL BE RELEASED AT 12:00 p.m.

Science Fair 4th-6th Grades

This past Friday we had over a hundred 4th-6th graders participate in our science fair!  How exciting to experiment with science!  Everything from ice to light, plants to soil, face and eyes, soda and batteries, and SO much more!

Some of our winners are:  Sienna Branch & Hunter Dustin, Taylar Brittain, Nolan Buck, Eli Dallon, Bridger Hall, Spencer Harward, Baylee Johnson & Nicole Kendell, Katelyn Lockwood & Leah Mendenhall, Ryan Lowe, Cosette McInelly, and Spencer & Mckay Meeks.  Congratulations and WELL DONE to all who participated!

PTA Family Art Night at Spanish Oaks

Friday night it was time for our Spanish Oaks PTA Family Art Night on January 31.  From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  parents, children, grandparents, and neighborhood friends came to enjoy the many different art projects offered for the entire family!  Students enjoyed mini-clogging classes taught by Mr. Crockett!  There were stations where they could create and decorate their own shirt!  Duct tape art ... rice picture creations ... fingerprinting ... marshmallow 3D building ...

"Race into Reading" Celebration at Spanish Oaks

Each student at Spanish Oaks Elementary has been working very hard on their reading to collect reading tickets for our January "Race into Reading" Assembly.  So far our amazing students have read over 1,077,000 minutes!!  Our goal for the year is 2,500,000 minutes, with a surprise reward celebration at the end of the year when we reach it.  Lucky winners today shot baskets, dribbled through cones, and had their names drawn for food cards, Jump On It passes and ...
