Well done, 6th Grade Orchestra ... and a huge "shout out" and thank you to our outstanding director, Mr. Hansen!  "Thank you for coming to support your children last evening.  They knocked it out of the park and met all my expectations.  This has been an exceptional group.  Bravo to them all, and to you [parents] for encouraging them.  I hope you enjoyed your time listening to the fruits of their labors these past months.  I have had a blast working with them."  - Russell Hansen

Freedom Walk

Submitted by lindsay.robison on

The Spanish Fork American Legion Post 68 hosted the second annual Freedom Walk at the Spanish Fork Sports Park on May 8 and 9. Members from each of the branches of the military were represented and told stories to nearly 1,250 fifth-graders from 13 schools during the two-day event.

Prior to the walk, each student either interviewed or researched a veteran and wrote a summary of what they learned. One-page summaries and photos of these veterans, many of which are family members, were attached to banners, creating a Wall of Honor which lined the walking route.

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Our fourth graders have worked hard to prepare a program that teaches us all about Utah history.  With speaking parts and fun songs, we learned about how our State came to be.  They did an excellent job and we really enjoyed the program.  A special thanks to Miss McKendrick, Mrs. Fagergren and Mr. Rigby for all their time and effort!
