Fight For Freedom at Spanish Oaks
Miss Hughes' Class wrote and performed skits about social injustices that have occurred throughout American history. They protested by making signs and shouting chants. What a neat way to learn!

Let's get ready for first grade!! Our kindergarteners enjoyed eating lunch for the first time in the lunch room and had a great time! They practiced saying their complete name to Mrs. Slaymaker, our wonderful lunch lady.
Mark your calendars for our second annual "Fun Run" Fund Raiser: 5K Race and "Fun (1 mile) Run". A $15.00 donation purchases entry into the race (1 mile / 5K), along with an awesome t-shirt.
Heidi Dimmick has spent the past 5 years teaching preschool out of her home while raising her kids. Prior to teaching preschool, Heidi taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade at Westside Elementary for three years before transferring to Riverview Elementary, when it opened. At Riverview, Mrs. Dimmick was a kindergarten teacher for 2 years. Now that her youngest is attending kindergarten, Mrs. Dimmick is back to teaching in elementary school, in 3rd grade this time.
Our fourth grade celebrated months of great behavior from their students by throwing them a Hogwarts Feast. Hufflepuff House were the winners, with the most points awarded overall. A great time was had by all!
What a great day for Kindergarten! They presented an amazing program to their parents, then took part in a parade of cars through the hallways of our school. The students and their parents created some awesome cars! The students were then able to travel "across America" to learn about our national symbols. Well done, Kindergarten students!
What a great bunch of bucket fillers!
Our school had great readers this month! One exceptional reader from each grade level was rewarded with rodeo tickets to enjoy with a friend or family member. They were presented by several members of our local rodeo committee. Congratulations to each of them! Our winners are: Chloe Davis, Kellen Mills, Joshua Bigler, Kinsey Larsen, Aidan Johnson, Josh Hall, and Caden Black.
The first graders became "community helpers for a day" as they presented their program to the student-body of Spanish Oaks, and to their parents. They did an amazing job and we want to congratulate them, and give them a big Hoorah!
Our fifth grade classes had a great experience on their fieldtrip to the Aquarium!
