Our second graders finished off the first week of school with a splash! They had a "cool" experience getting wet playing games with their classmates and teachers. It was a great way to end a fantastic first week!
We are so excited about the great number of students that are filling others' buckets here at our school! We spotlighted these students this week, having them sign our ginormous bucket outside Mrs. Brown's office. Congratulations, Bucket Fillers!
This year at Spanish Oaks we are focusing on being "Bucket Fillers"! Each of us has an invisible bucket. It is constantly emptied or filled, depending on what others say or do to us. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When it’s empty, we feel awful … At Spanish Oaks, we fill buckets!
Everyone was very excited, and a little nervous for the first day of school in 1st grade, even the teachers. As all of the students gathered on the carpet for a story, one new friend raised his hand ...
Teacher: "Yes, do you have a question?"
Student: "Teacher, I was just wondering ... Is there a reason why your shoes don't match?"
Welcome back to school, everyone!
Ahoy, Matey! The theme for our third grade this year is "Pirates". Today we talked about how pirates would make ropes from individual strings, and how we are stronger as we learn and work together. Every student made their own rope bracelet as a reminder. Yo Ho Ho ... it's going to be a great year in 3rd grade!
Sixth Grade Team on Day 1 ... We are super excited to have a great year!!!
To kick off this year’s PTA focus of “Only With Teamwork Are We Able to Accomplish Our 'Bucket-Filling' Goals”, on Friday, September 5, at 7:30 p.m. The Aristocats will be shown! Families are invited to bring blankets, pillows, chairs, and treats and join us outside for our movie under the stars!
Students, parents and staff were excited to welcome back our amazing teachers! We have the BEST jobs in the world and are so lucky to learn alongside your children every day! Thank you for sharing them with us ... Bring on the new year!!
Teachers interested in having a scooter holder made for their room by our local Eagle Scout, Trenton Teasdale, signed up in the Spring with high hopes ... Well, Trenton delivered! Each of our teachers now has a freshly varnished, home-made scooter holder to keep their coatrooms nice and tidy. Well done, Trenton ... Thank you!
