Parents, students and teachers alike enjoyed a wonderful evening at our annual PTA Family Arts Night. Mr. Crockett led the students in dance ... Mrs. Burtenshaw coordinated a wonderful Readers' Theater ... Mrs. Christensen kept the school rocking with karaoke ... Mrs. Aagard created a display of students' work from our Arts EXTRA Saturday ... Mrs. Bard organized a huge variety of crafts, i.e., paper plate masks, 3-D marshmallow art, duct tape designs, etc. Thank you, PTA, for putting together an amazing night of learning and fun!
Our Kindergarten, first grade and second grades celebrated 100 days of school today. The second graders aged over night and came today dressed as a 100 year old. They were moving kind of slow! Our first graders' shirts were a little weighed down as they were each sporting 100 items hooked to their shirts. We had everything from balloons to bandaids. Happy 100's Day!
Superhero "Cupcake Crusader" visited the first grade today to teach Miss Lybbert's class about opinion writing. Each child chose their own superhero and powers to use as they let their classmates know why their powers would be the best. There were a bunch of persuasive choices of superheroes for the day!
What a great bunch of readers! In an assembly to reward the great reading going on at Spanish Oaks, we had a special visitor do some magic tricks for us! Ronald McDonald himself celebrated 1,056,043 minutes read by our students. Our bike winners are Adaline Rowbury from Mr. Rigby's sixth grade class, and Logen Bringhurst from Olsen/Dimmick's third grade class. Congratulations to those two students, as well as to all the book and poster winners. Also, a special thanks to our PTA for setting up such a motivating and fun assembly! You rock, Mrs. Gunderson!
Spanish Oaks ARTS EXTRA MIRRORS AND MASTERPIECES ... Students, teachers and parents alike had a wonderful time as they joined us for a trip into the world of art. A special "thank you" to Mrs. Carolyn Aagard, Mrs. Stacey Johnson and all of the outstanding volunteers who helped make this an amazing day of learning and fun for our students!
