It was an exciting day at Spanish Oaks as past U.S. Presidents and First Ladies arrived to mingle for Tea at the White House.  Students in 5th grade have been studying presidents and first ladies through a variety of activities in the classroom. Students then dressed up as their chosen president or first lady and presented facts for their parents and grandparents.  Their parents' knowledge was tested as they competed for top prize in who's who among American presidents and first ladies using the clues given by students.  Hot cocoa and cookies were served to complete the awesome event.

President Abraham Lincoln was able to take some time out of his very busy schedule to come and meet our morning Kindergarten students.  We had the opportunity to see first hand how tall he really was.  President Lincoln told us all about himself.  We also learned about how his hat helped him to stay organized in his early career in law.  Ask your kindergarten student to tell you all about our important visitor.
