On Friday, November 13, 2015, the first grade had the opportunity to participate in a Native American Presentation. At the beginning of the presentation, the students learned sign language to a Native American song. We also learned about the baby cradles that Native Americans made to keep their babies in, so they could accomplish other tasks. The cradles kept the babies snug and tight, so the baby felt like he/she was being held. The Native Americans also educated us on the different ways they used math to create their art. They would use math to make their baskets, rugs, moccasins, jewelry, and much more. It was an engaging and exciting presentation that the students will remember for a long time.
