Food Drive at Spanish Oaks
We had so much fun looking at some rocks a student brought in to share with us! We also loved our rock unit where we learned all about rocks, how they are formed and what characteristics different kinds of rocks have.
Mrs. Brown came to Kindergarten today and helped us write adjectives to help describe the main character from one of our favorite shared reading stories Abiyoyo. "He has long, twirly, dirty, sharp fingernails, 'cause he never cuts them. Stinky, dirty, big, hairy feet, 'cause he never washes them. Slobbery, stinky, gross, old teeth 'cause he never brushes them. And matted, knotted, ugly, hair 'cause he never washes it!" So fun!
We are so excited to introduce our Go Getters for the week here at Spanish Oaks. They have done a great job at working hard, showing respect and being kind. Thanks so much, students!
Mark your calendars . . .
Our Box Tops Race is coming up soon: February 11-15th. Please send your clipped and unexpired Box Tops with your child to school. The class that collects the most wins a Pizza Party!
Also, like saving with coupons? Here is a way to save with Box Tops!
Our third graders have been working on earning house points. Their reward was a chance to play quidditch. The students had so much fun and were such great sports!
Sixth Grade had a fun time learning some different brain breaks with Mrs. Fillmore.
3rd and 6th grade students work together to help master their multiplication facts. They played games, shared tricks and even raced the teachers!

We had a great trip to Maple Mountain High School to listen to the Utah Symphony concert! It was fun and very educational.
Mrs. Fagergren’s class used scarves and movement to represent and remember the water cycle. Pictured here are students working together to show condensation with different types of clouds: cirrus, stratus, and cumulus.
