Mr. Billie, our custodian, spends a lot of his time out on duty in the crosswalk. He is always so willing to help take some of this load off of the faculty and staff. Because of his great service, we "gifted" him with a new hot pink vest so he would stay safe! Can't miss him now :). Give him a wave and tell him hello when you pass through the crosswalk. We had an amazing first day of Arts EXTRA today at Spanish Oaks! We planned on accommodating 60 registrations, but ended up with ... 92! Thank you to our awesome teachers who insisted on not turning anyone away, and adjusted their materials and instruction to welcome all 92 students! It is going to be a super experience for all!
"We are excited to offer Arts EXTRA again this year at Spanish Oaks! We have a variety of teachers that will be teaching these classes for students in 1st-6th grades.
Our third graders had so much fun on our field trip today. We went to the Bean Museum and attend a live animal show. Then we went to Glen Canyon Park for a picnic. We walked up to Bridal Veil Falls. On our walk back to the park the weather went from sprinkling a little to a down pour. The kids were troopers and we had a great time.

The third graders have been learning how to draw a still life. Today Mrs. Dimmick taught the entire third grade how to shade in each of their bottles in their still life. We love all the great art that happens at our school.

These amazing students were chosen to earn our Big Umbrella award this past week. We are so proud of the great job they are doing here at Spanish Oaks.
Mrs. Stewart’s class is practicing becoming even better readers by DYAD reading. Each of them has a partner and they read together to become more fluent readers and to build their vocabulary. They really enjoy getting to buddy read with a partner and become more fluent readers.
