Maple Mountain Athletes read to Spanish Oaks Students

Submitted by leslie.loftin on
Baseball players from Maple Mountain High School took time out to read to the students of Spanish Oaks Elementary. They visited classrooms and read their favorite books to the students. They encouraged the students to always work hard and to be the very best they can be. We would like to thank Coach Miner and the Golden Eagle players for their visit. Teacher Appreciation at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by leslie.loftin on
Last week the PTA sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week and, wow, did the teachers get spoiled! The theme this year was a pirate theme. Teachers had signs outside of their doors that were decorated by room parents. There was a waffle bar breakfast that kicked the week off on Monday morning. On Tuesday, students dressed up as pirates and watched a pirate relay race with the teachers from their own grade levels. Teacher treats included yummy cupcakes, a bag full of “treasures” from under the sea, and a delicious pirate feast for lunch on Friday.

On Friday, February 1st , the students and staff at Spanish Oaks spent the day focusing on healthy living through lessons on eating nutritious foods and staying physically active. Students wore exercise clothing from the ‘80s and spent time exercising (Sweatin’ to the Oldies) in the school auditorium with Principal Huff and led by the student council. It was a fun, informative activity.
