Health and Wellness at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by kali.brown on

We are so excited to continue our Health and Wellness/Gold Medal School  focus at Spanish Oaks this year.  We want to thank all of our families for their enthusiasm to celebrate birthdays and special occasions with their child's class.  Due to the growing health concerns and allergies of many of our students, we would like to propose an alternative to the traditional "candy/sugar" treats.

Just Jumpin Into Reading at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by kali.brown on

The students at Spanish Oaks were excited to welcome the Just Jumpin' jump rope team to kick-off our "Jump Start Reading" reading program for the 2015-2016 school year.  "The best investment we can make in our community is to ensure that our children can read, and the Road to Success program is an effective way to make that investment."  Our reading goal this year is to read 2,500,000 minutes as a school.  Jump to it, Explorers ... Let's get reading!

Super Sentences in Second Grade

Submitted by sherri.peterson on
"Mrs. Graham has a fluffy white hat."  "She has a big red cape, it is humongous."  "She has mismatched earrings, one is smooth one is bumpy."  These are just a few of the sentences that students wrote today as they practiced using adjectives in sentences by describing Mrs. Graham.
