These two students won bikes in our reading assembly today! Students earn reading tickets, and the number they earn is dependent on how many minutes they read at home. The more tickets you have, the greater your chance is of winning a bike! Great job, Miranda and Rowen, for being amazing readers! #SpanishOaksExplorers #BeSomeonesHero
Today we had our Champions Rodeo Reading Assembly! Students got to see a professional cowboy and his eight-year-old son rope a plastic steer. A couple students from our school also got to try to rope the steer. There was also a teachers vs. students barrel race ... and the students won! By reading 7 days a week in the month of April, students have a chance to win cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, jeans, AND tickets to the rodeo! Please watch for your Reading Calendars to come home on Monday! #SpanishOaksExplorers #BeSomeonesHero
We had the opportunity to hear from the Utah Opera yesterday! They played “Who Wants to Be an Opera Star!” All the students got to learn lots of fun facts about opera music and they got to hear many opera songs. What a great learning opportunity! #SpanishOaksExplorers #BeSomeonesHero
Congratulations to our very own Kelly Burtenshaw who was awarded the "Spirit of PTA" award today out of all the schools in Region 10 (includes 55 PTA's in Nebo & Provo school districts). Also, congrats to Laura Theodosis, our Membership Chair, who received an "Outstanding Membership Campaign" award. Thank you, ladies, for your service to our school!
Mrs. Dimmick’s class has been working hard this term on their art work. They have been working on skills such as: perseverance, hard work, decision making, problem solving, sequencing, proportions, size, balance, and thinking and reasoning. They are presenting their work in an art show for their parents. They were asked by the BYU Arts Partnership if they could come and make a video about the students work. Some students were interviewed and we look forward to seeing the interest piece.

Bailey Jensen and Kallie Cowan listen to directions given by the lunch ladies and then go out to help clean the cafeteria. These girls did a great job and were chosen for our lunch workers of the week.
Breakfast was a popular meal at our school this past week. We even had some special visitors. Officer Slaymaker and Miss Spanish Fork both made an appearance to help pass out prizes. Special thanks to our lunch ladies for their extra time and effort!
We love our students!
