Ghosts, pirates, ninjas, princesses, etc., all took center stage for Mrs. Dimmick's 3rd Grade Readers' Theater. Families enjoyed their wonderful spooky renditions as the students impressed the audience with their fluency and expressive reading. Wonderful work, 3rd grade!
Spirit Week at Spanish Oaks
Spirit Week at Spanish Oaks brought out the crazy hair along with a rainbow of colors as students and teachers alike dressed in a different color each day. We love our school!
Two Weeks Worth of Bucket Fillers at Spanish Oaks
Great things are still happening at Spanish Oaks! Each week we have bucket fillers from each class join us at our huge bucket to sign their names and receive a treat for the great things that they are doing to fill others buckets! We even got a few monsters and princesses this week! Congratulations, bucket fillers!!
Reading Celebration with Mrs. Brown
We are so excited to continue our “Team Read” Road to Success reading program at Spanish Oaks for the 2014-2015 school year. “[The goal of the program is to] work together to unite and inspire families, teachers, administrators, and the community to work together to achieve meaningful and measurable academic improvement [by reading every day] (Garff, 2014). Our reading goal this year is ... 2,500,000 minutes!! Our October lucky winners were treated to a Popcorn/Movie celebration with Mrs.
Time for Halloween in 6th Grade
The students in Mr. Crockett's sixth grade class were busy preparing for their annual spook alley today ... Everyone worked hard decorating pumpkins to be ready for Friday. Happy Haunting!
Third Grade at the Theater
The third grade students from Spanish Oaks Elementary had a wonderful time at the Scera Theater watching "Miss Nelson is Missing". They enjoyed the play and represented our school well with their good manners and appropriate behavior. Well done, third grade!
Moving and Grooving in Second Grade at Spanish Oaks
The second grade students in Miss Paul's class had a groovy time with their awesome student teacher, Mrs. Robinson, during their movement/zumba lesson. Everyone got up off the floor and got moving to the music! Thanks for a great time, Mrs. Robinson!
Apples Everywhere in First Grade at Spanish Oaks
Miss Lybbert's first grade class was treated to a visit from farmers, Matt and Candi McMullin ... They came and read the story "Apples, Apples Everywhere" to the class! They talked about growing up on farms and working with their families at farmers markets selling fresh fruit! They donated a box of gala apples and pluots to the class so each child could take one home! The book was donated to Miss Lybbert's class by the Farm Bureau. What a wonderful learning experience!
First Grade Scera Theater Field Trip and Picnic in the Park
First grade had a wonderful time attending the play "Miss Nelson is Missing" at the Scera Theater. The students loved seeing their beloved book come to life on the stage. They were complimented on being a "respectful and great audience." After the play, everyone enjoyed a beautiful fall day with a picnic in the park. It is great to be in first grade at Spanish Oaks!
