PRCA Rodeo Reading Champions from Spanish Oaks

The PRCA Rodeo Champions Challenge returned to the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds Arena Saturday, May 30, 2015. This rodeo featured the world’s All-star Cowboys in town for one night competing on some of the world’s best animals for the winning prize.

Spanish Fork City came to our school to invite all the students of Spanish Oaks Elementary to ‘compete’ alongside the Cowboys in The Reading Champions Challenge, March 1 thru March 31, 2015.  Seven Champion Readers were awarded two (2) tickets each to the rodeo, along with two grand prize winners (Chloe Davis and Aidan Johnson), who were awarded a brand new pair of Justin Boots cowboy boots!  Carrying American flags, students were invited to be a part of the opening ceremony for the rodeo.  Thank you, Spanish Fork City, for an awesome reading challenge opportunity!  Yee haw!!

What DO Teachers Do During the Summer?

According to Will Young in Mrs. Olsen's third grade class, here is what teachers do during the summer:

What Teachers Do In Summer?

They jump off of buildings and go dumpster diving.
They go to a mountain and always are climbing.
They skydive from air planes and have lots of fun.
If I could do it, I'd do it a ton.
What do teachers do whent the school year is over?
I wish they could tell me, just mail it on over!

Thanks, Will, for the great ideas for this summer!
