All of our teachers treated the students to a "talent" assembly for the final week of school to show them just how very much we love them.  Students enjoyed a Then ... and NOW Slideshow, "Baby" Lip Syncing, We've Got Rhythm garbage can rap, "Hello, Summer" music video, Kung Fu Fighting demonstration, Dark Lord Funk, Stick Man dance, How animals eat their food, Chop Sticks (piano) and Chip Shots (golf with marshmallows!!), and a Student Slide Show ... (please see the links below to view our awesomeness!!)

As part of our last assembly we also gave away TONS of great books for summer reading, two (2) $50 college savings certificates and a final bike as part of our year's reading incentive program.  Kailey Glazer was the proud winner of the bike.  Congratulations, Kailey!  Happy Summer, Spanish Oaks ... We LOVE you!

Spanish Oaks Mini Society

Submitted by sherri.peterson on Mon, 05/23/2016 - 15:51

5th Grade had Mini Society today and it was a HUGE success. Students come up with a business to run for a day for students at the school.  Students earn "money" throughout the year that they then use to purchase land, business licences, etc., and even have to take mock food handler's test.  This year, we had a terrific group of entrepreneurs with a variety of businesses such as games, beauty salons, target shoots, sport venues, and some very talented face painters among other things.  Thanks to all the parents who helped their student prepare for this very much anticipated day!!!

Spanish Oaks Elementary was the recipient of several awards that were presented in an assembly yesterday.  We won $150 from the SNAP Safe Walking School program through the PTA, and several scooters and helmets were given out, as well.  We were also awarded $1,000 from Trustlands for a picture of students using our new chromebook lab that Mrs. Brown sent into a competition.  We are excited and want to thank those involved in giving the school these awards.

Choir Concert at Spanish Oaks

Submitted by sherri.peterson on Thu, 05/19/2016 - 14:24

We enjoyed a great concert by our choir yesterday!  It was very entertaining as we listened to the songs and watched them dancing.  A special thanks to Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Aagard for time and effort thoughout the year.  Also, to Mrs. Drollinger and Mrs. Dallon for their help on the piano.
