We have a number of fifth graders moving on to the next level after a great science fair held here last week. Congratulations to the following students: Mikah Hunter, Madison Johnson and Kesley Johnson, Shayla Brown, Tanner Nelson, Riley Richardson, Chase Newman, Savannah Dustin and Trenton Black, Ethan McInelly, Sam Jackson and Alexis Allred. Best of luck to each of you!
A big "thank you" to all that participated in our Box Tops Race last October. Our next Box Tops Race starts on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Box Tops are DUE Friday, February 17, 2017. Students and families, it is time to please start clipping Box Tops ... Every class has a container in their room where students can turn in their Box Tops. Thank you for your support!
A large number of our students had a great time creating and being part of an Arts Night put on by Julie Olson, a member of our fantastic PTA. It was a huge success! Special thanks to Julie, as well as teachers and volunteers who helped to make this activity a success. We have some budding little artists here at Spanish Oaks!
Miss Young's class arrived at school about 92 years older than they were yesterday! From gray hair, to wrinkles and stooped backs, they learned a little about what it would be like to be 100 years old. A lot of great activities happened today as we celebrated the 100th day of school.
Here are just a few of the amazing science fair projects that were on display today at Spanish Oaks. The students have worked hard, and we all learned some interesting facts today as we read their posters and listened about their experiments. We may have the next Einstein on our hands!
A big thanks to the fifth grade teachers and to the volunteer judges that participated!
Our School Food Drive has been EXTENDED to ... February 3, 2017!!
In conjunction with this year's school food drive ... we are adding a competition leading to the Super Bowl called “Tailgating for Tummies”. We will work to see which class can bring in the most “touchdowns”, and the grade-level with the greatest total will win the Super Bowl Tailgate Celebration.
How to get a touchdown: For every 100 items (representing 100 yards on a football field) a class will earn a "touchdown". Student Council Members will come by each morning to collect the food drive items. Our School Food Drive goes through Friday, February 3, 2017. Thank you, everyone!!!!
Thanks to your generous donations, for the last few years we have collected thousands of items!! All donations to Tabitha's Way will stay here locally to help stop hunger. This year our goal is to EXCEED last year's goal!! All donations stay here locally ... Thank you so much for your support!
Tabitha’s Way Food Pantry has been a part of the Nebo School District for the past 5 years providing food and supplies for families in need. This year they plan on feeding 5,000 families. They are able to accomplish this amazing task because of the donations they receive from food drives. “Together we can stop hunger and meet the needs of our struggling student families!” http://tabithasway.com/
Students were beyond excited today in our reading assembly when the one and only BYU Cosmo walked through the door! High fives were not enough for most of the students, they wanted a hug (including Mrs. Brown). Games were played, books won, and two bikes given away. Our lucky bike winners were Madison Brittain from our fourth grade, and Haden Grotegut from Kindergarten. Congrats students, and keep reading! We are half way to duct taping Mrs. Brown to the wall!
