Happy Birthday, Mr. Murray!

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Hip, hip, hooray for Mr. Murray!  We have had a great day wishing Mr. Murray a happy birthday!  He has had poems written, the top ten reasons the students like him, posters, cards and chants, just to name a few.  He has also enjoyed his favorite treat, peanut butter fingers!  We hope you have had an amazing day!

Kindergarten- Field Trip Through the ABC’s

Submitted by steffani.waggoner on

Kindergarten finished our first trip through the ABC's today.  YAHOO!!   We had a fun day celebrating the alphabet by singing ABC songs, writing our ABC's and even popping 26 balloons with a mystery letter message inside.  The kids helped decide what we should do with all the letters and we put them together in ABC order to complete the whole alphabet.   What a fun day!

Science In Action in Mrs. McClain's Class

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

We have been studying gravity and air resistance in science. Today we put our knowledge to the test with an egg drop. Students studied videos of parachute drops to gather information on how a parachute works. They then applied our knowledge of gravity and air resistance to design their own parachute and platform to protect an egg dropped from the top of the school. You can tell from the students' expressions which designs were successful and which were not!

We are so sad to be losing our head lunch clerk, Shiloh Slaymaker.  She has been serving our school for 14 years now, and has been amazing!  She is transferring to another, larger school in our district that needs her expertise.  We will miss you, Shiloh!!

We are so excited to share with you our first 2020-2021 Excellent Explorers for our first term of school.  They are an amazing group of students, who have consistently shown gratitude, resilience, initiative and tenacity.  They were cheered for by the student body, got to eat with Mr. Murray on a “special” table, and are now in our newsletter.  Congratulations to each of you on a job well done.  Here are our award winners:
