Spanish Oaks Holding a Food Drive-Dec. 7-11th

Spanish Oaks will be having a food drive December 7-11. All food items should be non-perishable and the donations will all go to Tabitha's Way. We will be having a competition each day for the class that brings the most items, and then a prize for the class with the most items at the end of the week.  Let's help out our local citizens with lots of food!!

Staff Spotlight of the Week-Mrs. Maughan, Computer Specialist

I'm proud to present our new computer teacher, Mrs. Erin Maughan! She is a great computer teacher. She is definitely a keeper. She said that she loved her job and that the kids here are really the best. So I am guessing she knows what she is doing. But, not only is she a computer teacher, but she is a mother at the same time, she has 5 kids, one 17 year old boy, a 15 year old girl, a 13 year old boy, an 8 year old boy, a 6 year old girl, and last but not least a tortoise named Titan that is 11 years old. How crazy is that!

Thanksgiving Fun

Mrs. Jenkins class had a great time learning about Thanksgiving.  We started the day by creating our own turkey hats and the day just kept getting better. Ending with our First Grade version of a Thanksgiving feast.

A Shout Out to Our Local Chick-Fil-A and Fiiz

Here at Spanish Oaks, we have been amazed at how supportive our local businesses are of our public schools.  They are so willing to donate items, give discounts, and just help out in any way possible.  We just had Chick-Fil-A donate a large number of meal cards, and Fiiz a large number of gift cards.  They have shown appreciation for the hard work our teachers and staff are doing.  Thanks so much for their support of education, and for their donations!!

Colonial Day in Fifth Grade

The fifth grade students learned all about how school would have been if they attended in Colonial times.  They dressed up, had their names changed, used no technology, wrote with ink and quill, used hammers and nails, and even had an old fashioned chalkboard.  Times have certainly changed.  A big thanks to the fifth grade teachers for making this a memorable learning experience!
