Teresa Winkler New Counselor at Spanish Oaks

Teresa was born and raised in Southern Alberta Canada.  She moved to Utah 23 years ago as a high school graduate with her family and attended Ricks College and Utah State.  She moved to Roosevelt for a teaching job at the junior high in 1998 and was surprised to meet her husband, Duane because she was out in the sticks and there's no way you're going to find a husband in the sticks! They were married the summer of 1999 after her first year of teaching.  In 2001 they moved to Springville.  She taught at Payson Jr. High while she worked on her master's degree in School Counseling.  She has been an elementary school counselor for the last 11 years working at Art City, Brookside, and Sage Creek.  She is an army wife and has sent her husband to boot camp, a deployment to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.  This was the first summer in her marriage that she didn't have to send her husband to a training or a far off country as he is retiring from the military.  Yes, she is a happy girl!! :)  This summer they were be able to get some long overdue remodeling done on their house! :)  She likes to crochet, collect coins, try new recipes, BBQs, spend time with family and friends and going up the canyon for walks with her husband and their dogs.

Our Minions Dressed Like Book Characters

Our librarian, Mrs. Downey, loves to decorate our library with student work!  This month we have minions dressed like the students' favorite book characters.  We have Calvin and Hobbs, the Lorax and other Dr. Seuss characters ... Harry Potter, and Star Wars characters, just to name a few.  It is so much fun to visit our library each month and see what new "book art" awaits us.  Thank you, Mrs. Downey!

We Love Our Grandparents at Spanish Oaks

Our first grade students here at Spanish Oaks welcomed their grandparents for a performance to tell them how much they love them.  The students did an excellent job and it turned out to be a great day!  Thank you, first grade teachers, for such an amazing experience for all.
