DFJH Visits the 6th Grade

Submitted by lindsay.robison on

Sixth grade enjoyed a visit from Diamond Fork Junior High's orchestra and band. They were taught about the different instruments and had a fun time guessing what songs were being played. The Jr. High would love for any Sixth Graders interested, to start thinking about joining band or orchestra next year.

The sixth graders were officially sorted into their Percy Jackson cabins this week after meeting with the Oracle. They then made life-size posters to pay tribute to their god or goddess parent. Let the camp games begin!

During music time our third graders worked on beat and rhythm.  They learned a Valentines song and then played sticks/drums to the beat they created.

Potential Energy

Kindergarten students had a special visitor from Discovery Gateway Children's Museum.  Our  visitor helped us with some hands-on experiments  where we learned about using forces like pushing, pulling and how air can make things move.   We played with hover aircrafts and had a tug or war to help us learn how these forces work.

100's Day in K

Submitted by lindsay.robison on

Kindergarten students are 100 Days Smarter!!  We celebrated by skip counting to 100 by 2's, 5's and 10's.  Then we spent time rotating to different stations where we did our best to see what we could accomplish in 100 seconds.   We worked on writing as many words as possible, building a tower with 100 cups, putting the ABC's in alphabetical order, and many other challenges.   We ended our day enjoying 100 little pancakes YUMMY!!  What a way to spend our 100th day!
