Kindergarten Enjoys Their Apples

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

We had a great time doing activities with apples today. We sorted them and made a graph. We read books and learned about Johnny Appleseed. We also made predictions on which apples would weigh the most, and used the balancing scales. We found out that Kinlee brought the heaviest apple.

Covid Can't Slow Us Down!!

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Here at Spanish Oaks, we've decided that Covid is not going to get the best of us!  Our small group instruction is going strong, despite the individual shields, table dividers, hand sanitizer, spray cleaner and Clorox wipes.  A huge shout out to Tara, Laura, Katie, Sandra and Steffani, our reading technicians, for their hard work and amazing job in instructing our students every single day!  They are amazing!

Staff Spotlight of the Week-Mrs. Morrow, 1st Grade

Submitted by sherri.peterson on

Megan Morrow is a first grade teacher here at Spanish Oaks this year, and she loves working with kids because "it is so amazing to see them learn and connect with the content." She loves helping students see the benefits of hard work and knowledge. This is her first year teaching here. She is married to Joe Morrow. She grew up in a family of 7 (5 kids, and her parents) and she feels lucky to have most of her siblings close by!  She loves spending time with her family. The best book she has read recently is "The Little Prince" by Antonie De Saint- Exupery.

Hip, hip, hooray for Mr. Murray!  We have had a great day wishing Mr. Murray a happy birthday!  He has had poems written, the top ten reasons the students like him, posters, cards and chants, just to name a few.  He has also enjoyed his favorite treat, peanut butter fingers!  We hope you have had an amazing day!

Kindergarten- Field Trip Through the ABC’s

Submitted by steffani.waggoner on

Kindergarten finished our first trip through the ABC's today.  YAHOO!!   We had a fun day celebrating the alphabet by singing ABC songs, writing our ABC's and even popping 26 balloons with a mystery letter message inside.  The kids helped decide what we should do with all the letters and we put them together in ABC order to complete the whole alphabet.   What a fun day!
