Part of the 1st-grade core is learning about community helpers. On community helper day, students come to school dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up. Then we have parents come share their job with the whole grade. They talk about how much schooling you need in order to have that as your career as well as the good and hard things they do in their job. We had the opportunity to hear from a Nebo Credit Union President, chemist, 911 operator, electrician, police officer, beekeeper, nurse, and flutist. It was such an educational day for the students
Dr. Seuss Day is a fun day of the year because not only do students get to dress up like characters from Dr. Seuss books but they also get to complete lots of curriculum-tied Dr. Seuss activities. We would read a Dr. Seuss book and then do an activity. We read the book, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut" and then students filled out their Dr.
Horton, Maisey, the Whos and Kangaroos ... just a few of the characters that delighted us in our school play. Mrs. Call and Mrs. Lewis have done an outstanding job helping the actors and actresses present an amazing story for us to enjoy! The students' and teachers' hard work really showed as they sang and danced their way into our hearts. Parents and families are invited to attend Thursday and/or Friday night(s) at 7:00 p.m. All who come will not be disappointed! Thank you for a job well done!
Our third graders were excited to celebrate the fact that every student has passed off their multiplication fast facts by having a wand party. They dueled, made wand holders, played games, and drank butter beer. It was a great day.
We had some mysterious hair show up at school today! It was so unusual we had to snap a few pictures as students (and teachers) checked in. Dr. Seuss would be proud!
Congratulations to Jaylee Stumpe, Madison Brittain, Paige Johnson, Rhys Mason and Garrett Ratliff for qualifying in the District Science Fair to move on to the competition at BYU. We are so excited for you and wish you luck!!
What an awesome bunch of students, Dr. Seuss hair and all :)
It’s time again for our Excellent Explorers Celebration! We really enjoy giving these students some love as they make the rounds throughout the school in the morning, and then have a special lunch with Mrs.
