Congratulations to Tristen Lott and Taizyl Tomlinson for being the top keyboarding champs from Spanish Oaks Elementary! Last week, the district held its annual Nebo Keyboarding Championship for 4th and 5th graders. Out of the 300 students representing local grade schools, Taizyl took 6th place overall in the 4th grade division, and Tristen came in 2nd place in the 5th grade division, winning $75.00 for his efforts! Both students were presented with a Golden Keyboard and recognized by Christine Blazzard from the district on Friday, April 22.

Mrs. Quinton, 5th grade teacher, has been selected to receive the Utah PTA Outstanding Educator Award from the Region 10 PTA. Region 10 is composed of Nebo and Provo school districts, and we are so thrilled to be able to recognize her! We are all so impressed with everything she contributes to Spanish Oaks Elementary, and totally agree that she exemplifies everything that this award stands for. Gabi was honored at an Awards Luncheon yesterday. We love you, Mrs. Quinton!
The following students have been chosen for the Kiwanis Award for this year. They are each amazing students that have put forth extra effort to be thoughtful of others, do well in their school work, and be a friend to everyone. Our students are Berkley Devenish, Haden Grotegut, Jayce Mills, Bryce Smith, Kinsley Stumpe and Lucy Theodosis. Congratulations, students!!
These fifth grade students were selected to attend the Regional Science Fair at BYU. They did a great job, and we even had 6 who won medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Our Kindergarten students did a fabulous job with their Kindy program and parade this morning. Their singing was so cute, and touched everyone's heart when they sang "I'm Proud to be an American." Each student, with the help of their parents, created a car to travel around the "United States" and learn about our State and National symbols. We want to thank everyone who has helped with this fun day, especially the volunteers who came and spent their morning teaching the students about our history.
